SV Euphorion aims to provide Euphies with fun, memorable and sometimes even educational events and activities to enhance the university experience. To this end, the association has a number of Committees, comprised of members. These committees organise various Activities and Events. These vary, from hosting Movie Nights and Borrels (a Dutch Tradition of after-work Drinks), to Museum Visits, Dutch City Visits and an Annual City Trip!
Being a Committee Member offers the Opportunity to not only get to know the Association and your fellow Members, but also the chance to develop useful skills and add your own creative touch to the association. Working together within your Committee provides a safe and fun space to create lasting friendships to grow from. After all, the social aspects of joining a Committee are the equally – if not more – important than the activities themselves!
Euphorion has six Committees. These are: the Literature & Film Committee, the Theatre and Culture Committee, the Party Committee, the Magazine Committees and the Intro Committee. Each Committee organises different types of Activities, Events and Programmes. Popular Examples from last Year include the ‘Winter Gala’, our Poetry Night, various Movie Nights, our Kareoke Evening and of course our annual Euphorion City Trip (to Porto, Portugal) as well as the handfull of Editions of our Association Magazine ‘Erato’s’.
To be part of a Committee, all you only need to be a member of Euphorion and be interested in a Committee!
Literature and Film Committee

The “Literature and Film” Committee explores the weird and wonderful World of Print and Audio-Visual Stories. This Committee consists of two Halves: the Film Half organises Movie Nights, Trips to the Cinema and the like, whereas the Literature Half explores the Written World of Books, Writing, Publishing and so on.
Last year, the LaF Committee organised Events such as a Poetry Night, a Publishing House Visit as well as Movie Screenings of a Number of Classic and Hidden Gem Films, all of which were highly enjoyed by Members who attended these Events!
Theathre & Culture Commitee

Our Study Programme and Books give us tantalising glimpses at the beautiful World that is Culture. However, Culture is something to be experienced! Thus, this Committee makes Room to explore various Cultures, familiar and foreign, their Art, Food, Music and much more.
Activities that this Committee organises include Museum and Theather Visits and Cultural Exchange Events. If you have Ideas bubbling up when you think of Culture or Theatre and want to share them with your fellow Members, while also developing organisational Skills, consider this Committee!
Party Committee

This Committee is staple of every Study Association. Its Goal: to provide well-needed Stress-relief through fun and unforgettable Parties and Borrels! This entails the organising of (sometimes themed) Borrels and Parties in regular Intervals, including in cooperation with other Study Associations (the More, the Merrier).
Do you like helping your fellow Students unwind after stressful Weeks? Do you like making new Friends and Contacts in our Programme and the Faculty? Do you like the organising of Parties and attending them afterwards? If you answered “Yes!” to any above, then the Party Committee would be a perfect fit for you!
Travel Committee

Books and movies provide an escape from everyday life but for a real escape we trn to Euphorion’s Travel Committee! Over the years they have organized week long trips to various literary known cities across Europe. These include, Wien, Lisbon, Berlin, Barcelona and Edinburgh! Each trip has involved various side activities like day trips, meals out, museum visits, and beach days!
The Travel Committee also organises day trips to different cities within the Netherlands to get to know the country better and get out of Utrecht and University!
These trips connect the members and create great memories and amazing friendships!

Magazine Committee

As the Literary Studies Study Association, SV Euphorion has many talented and enthusiastic writers and editors in its ranks. For them, the Magzine Committee creates a space for their expression in the ‘Erato’s Magazine’, named after one of the mythical greek muses.
Erato’s is a quarterly literary magazine which collects literary and visual works from members, students and other volunteer contributors and publishes these in unique themed editions.
All are welcome to contribute, under your name or Pen-names or Pseudonyms, and can submit anything from Prose Short-Stories, Poetry and Reports to Artworks and Photographs. This Committee doesn’t organise events like the others do, but focuses on the Magazine instead. Intro Committee

The Intro Committee is assembled in the second semester to and starts working on the introduction days for the next year.
This committee creates a safe and welcoming place for first years and provides a first look into what our association represents and how we work. Intro also plans the first years dinner and other fun activites to welcome new members!
This committee will prioritizing the Bachelors Literary Studies they also welcome in the Masters students!
